A Book Signing +Beer, You Say?!
The time has finally come!
Apologies for leaving many of you hanging, but I had to ensure that my April flight schedule would allow for this very fun announcement:
South of Memphis, TN (20min drive from the airport) there lies an establishment called
Whether you read this lead-up in the previous blog, or you're new here (welcome!), I'm going to be repeating the information to refresh and inform everyone:
The Mississippi Ale House graciously offered to host my first book signing, and I accepted. There’s an awesome outdoor beer garden, a stage, live band, excellent adjoining pizza and burger restaurants, and an overall awesome vibe.
What's even cooler is that this event will be held on Saturday, April 23rd, 1:00-6:00pm. Coincidence?
That's right! In the middle of a beer festival, myself and at least one other pilot from my Cavalry troop will be on site to sign books—Just look for the stetsons!
Festival participants will be eligible for a very special deal created only for those in attendance. Skytrain Brewing Co. is crafting an amazing Scouts Out! themed beer for the occasion:
KiowAPA —A Kiowa-Warrior-themed American Pale Ale.
Buy a book, get a complimentary pint.
Love the beer?!
Be super cool—Get another book to gift to a friend or loved one, and you score another pint!
Yes. That is called "winning."
Both softcover and hardcover editions will be readily available. Additionally, swag extras will be offered, especially to anyone who can hit the mic and give the crowd their best Kiowa story!
Here's the quickest link to score your tickets to Brewfest 2022 before they sell out!
I'm super pumped, and I really hope that you're able to join in the fun!
Other business: The Saga of the Audiobook.
The narrator that I was going to use turned out to be less-than-ideal. Led me along, then fell through spectacularly. Such is the business that I've gotten used to dealing with, however I am still remaining positive. If anything, this just tells me someone better suited is out there and my previous arrangement was simply not meant to be. As more info on this front becomes available, I'll be sure to share it!
Believe me when I say, though—I want an audiobook as bad (or worse) than you do! Promise.
The word about the book is slowly but surely spreading, and I continue to appreciate everyone who has been telling their family, friends, and colleagues about the story. Please keep it up!
That's about all that I have for this short entry at present. For more pictures and videos, don’t forget to watch me bumble my way across social media: @ScoutsOutBook on Instagram and/or on Facebook search the full book title, Scouts Out!: A Kiowa Warrior Pilot’s Perspective of War in Afghanistan to find my page.
Thanks for reading, reviewing, and spreading the word—stay tuned for more to come!
